If you have taken some formal training in previous years you may be able to get that recognised towards a national qualification. Generally, prior learning is assessed in conjunction with current competence, however in some cases prior learning can be cross credited to the qualification you are pursuing.
If you have taken a course or qualification from a recognised training establishment and you have been formally assessed - e.g. you sat the exams and passed - you may be able to apply for cross crediting.
If you have taken various courses over the years that have not really included post course assessments - e.g. final exams - it is likely you will have to complete the Recognition of Current Competency process.
