Training courses are offered in a variety of formats and methods in New Zealand, Australia and Canada. Our feedback tells us our trainer, Helen McPhun, has a proven delivery method incorporating energy, humour, creativity and learning that is unobtrusively measured.
Learners’ styles are accommodated – Helen takes the time to understand the needs of the learners and incorporates this into the delivery of sessions using current adult education methodology mixed with a whole lot of practical common sense.

Adult Education and Training
These courses all align to NZQA unit standards and completion of modules allows you to achieve a national qualification in adult education at level 4, 5 or 6 - depending on the modules you choose. Contact us for more details.
Learning Needs Analysis & ROI Part One (01LNA)
Learn how to determine the training needs of individuals and groups in alignment with your organisational goals. . Time will also be spent on determining some of the measurements that need to be put in place before training commences. These include organisational objectives, performance objectives and overall business goals. Without these it is impossible to quantify ROI at the end of the needed training. Optional: You will be required to do 3 individual LNA’s and 1 group LNA after the workshop for the assessment. 7103 Level 4 Credits 4; 7105 Level 5 Credits 8
Evaluating Training Effectiveness and ROI Part Two (06ETE)
Learn how to evaluate a training session and also evaluate a whole training programme that is made up of multiple modules or training sessions. You will learn about the data that must be collected and ways it should be analyzed. Participants who took part in 05WTT Walking the Talk will be encouraged to base their session evaluation on that demonstration. The metrics developed in 01LNA ROI Part One will be analyzed and quantified post session delivery. Course and Content Design (02CDD)
Uncover ways to structure, sequence, sort and sift the topic information for a course into a smooth flowing learning process to meet the needs of stakeholders. Emphasis is placed on you developing a realiable course design format you can apply to any future courses.7094 Level 6 Credits 9
Designing Instruction and Delivery (03D1D)
Understand learning styles and integrate them into interactive and engaging sessions. You’ll pick up loads of tips on instructional design and learner engagement strategies. You will work through the design of a 30 minute training session which must be delivered after the course if you want to complete the assessment. 7093 Level 5 Credits 6
Literacy Tutor Instruction & Delivery 2days (03LIT)
Uncover ways to conduct diagnostic assessments to determine the literacy levels of your learners. Then work to include literacy based activities in your training to meet the specific needs of your learners. By the end of day 2 you will have designed a diagnostic assessment tool and learned how to embed and include a variety of literacy related activities in your training. You will also have designed a 30 minute training session which includes activities to aid learners with literacy challenges. 21204 Level 5 Credits 30 The assessment for this module requires you to work over a period of time with four learners with literacy challenge.
Literacy Tutor Instruction & Delivery 2days (03LIT)
Explore ways to build a learning culture in your organisation. You will learn methods to check that learning has occurred and develop diagnostic, self assessment, formative assessment, summative assessment and longitudinal assessment tools.
A variety of management modules are currently under development all aligned with NZQA unit standards.

Assessor Training for NZQA systems (04QAS)
You will learn a best practice approach to assessing in an NZQA environment whether you are a tutor or a workplace assessor. This workshop is well known as being one of the most enjoyable ways to learn the skill of high quality assessment. Moderator Training for NZQA systems (04QAM)
Quality assurance requirements for NZQA assessments are explored. This workshop allows you to work through pre and post assessment moderation activities as well as receiving insights into moderation requirements of standard setting bodies. You will be required to perform group moderation in the session and also complete moderation activities towards your own assessment. 11551 Level 5 Credits 6
Walking the Talk 05WTT
In this workshop you will demonstrate the 30 minute training session you developed in the modules 03DID Designing Instruction and Delivery or in 03LIT Literacy Tutor Instruction and Delivery. Your peers will observe you and you will be receive a DVD of your session. If you elect to not attend this workshop you must submit a 30 minute recorded training session: a digital camera and editing package may be available for you to use for this purpose.
